Explaining my works to the Guest of Honour < Mr Baey Yam Keng , with Mr Tan Boon Hui, Director of Sinagpore Art Museum.

We received a question by SAM fan Isaac Wong asking if 'Conversations with Trees' is an exploration of processes, and it is indeed. Here is artist Yeo Shih Yun explaining the different artistic processes which she used to achieve the desired outcome in her mixed media installation. Shih Yun: Processes are very important in a lot of my works and especially in this series. The process for this was very tedious for me. I had to collect the marks from the trees, scan the marks, choose the marks I like, and then recompose them using Photoshop, transfer the prints to silk screens and then on to the final painting. So yes, it is really about processes.
